The murder was suspected to be related to a property dispute as they had no legal heir. The locals saw them for the last time on Friday morning, and there was a friendly entry into their house. The valuables were not taken, which made the police rule out robbery. They were questioning the couple's relatives and a shopkeeper to identify the people who were friendly with them. An FIR was filed against unknown persons for murder.
