CRPF Jawan Cremates Wife and Children in Gorakhpur

On Saturday evening, Havildar Jawahir Lal Kannaujiya of the CRPF cremated his wife, two daughters, and only son's bodies in Gorakhpur. In July of last year, Kannaujiya's wife Raji (35), daughter Poonam (16), Anoop (15), and Ruby (12) were murdered in their home in Chhattisgarh. The victim's family is demanding a CBI investigation into the incident.

On Sunday, the soldier also faced difficulties in collecting the bodies of his wife and children. After much commotion, the bodies were autopsied and handed over to him. During the final rites of the bodies on the banks of the Rapti river, there were hundreds of people present. CRPF jawans also gave the family of Jawahir Lal Kannaujiya their last respects.

Even after a day and a half since the murder of four members of the same family, the police have not yet found any clues. On the basis of suspicion, the Shahpur police questioned five people late Friday night. A forensic team from Lucknow is also searching for the killers based on fingerprint and other evidence. There is concern that the number of killers may be more than one.
