Triple Murder Suspects Arrested in Kanpur

The main suspect Rashid and his wife Shakeela were arrested for the triple murder case reported on March 6 in a saddlery unit in Macchliwala Hata in Gwaltoli. The victims were identified as Riyaz, Ibrahim, and their mother Zainab, all residents of Bahraich district, Uttar Pradesh. The suspects were caught near inter-state Jhakarkati bus terminus when they were trying to escape. Police recovered a country-made firearm, several cartridges, and a sharp-edged weapon from them.

The investigation revealed that the victims had come to settle scores with Rashid, who was on the run with his second wife Shakeela. Rashid had married Zainab's daughter, who he had murdered in 1997. After being convicted of the murder, he fled from the area. The factory owner discovered the three bodies with their throats slit open and injuries on their hands. A six-year-old boy Saddam, who was related to Zainab, was also found in the unit during the investigation.

The police investigation into the matter is ongoing. The suspects are currently in custody and will be charged accordingly.
