Police Officer Hatches Murder Plan Against Woman Who Filed Rape Case
Bachchu Singh, a police sub-inspector, allegedly orchestrated a plot to murder a 25-year-old woman who had previously accused his son of rape. Singh is accused of hiring a contract killer for 1.5 lakh rupees to carry out the crime. The woman was strangled, and her body was disposed of in an irrigation canal in Aligarh, located 336 km west of the state capital, Lucknow.
Following the investigation, the contract killer, his journalist wife, Singh's son, and a police constable were arrested in connection with the murder. During the interrogation, the hitman, Amarpal, confessed to the killing and implicated Singh as the mastermind behind the plan. Singh sought assistance from a police constable, and Amarpal was hired for 1.5 lakh rupees.
The victim had filed a rape case against Singh's son, Tarun, in March 2013. Tarun was charged in the case and is currently out on bail. The woman went missing on November 30, 2013, and her abduction was reported two days later. Rashmi Chaudhary, a journalist who had promised her a job, was arrested after the police identified her involvement. Chaudhary took the woman to Aligarh, where she was strangled by Amarpal and an accomplice.
