Father-Son Duo Remanded to Police Custody in Fake Robbery Case
Nagpur, Maharashtra: Bandu Wankhede and his son Nitesh, who were exposed for orchestrating a fake robbery, appeared before the lower court in Mouda on Saturday. The court granted police custody of the father-son duo until July 25, as they face charges of cheating, criminal conspiracy, and other offenses. Their accomplices, Bala Pelle, Avinash Kale, and hired robbers Mangesh Bhusari, Bhushan Bawankar, and Mangesh Bawankule were also remanded to police custody until the same date.
The seven individuals, apprehended by the Nagpur rural police in the past 24 hours, were involved in a dramatic scheme to defraud Kacchru Meshram and his family. The plan involved the sale of a five-acre plot for Rs 52 lakhs to Bandu at Nerla. To create the illusion of having the necessary funds, Bandu arranged for counterfeit currency. Subsequently, he hired Bhusari, Bawankar, and Bawankule to impersonate robbers and steal the bag containing the fake notes. However, the police outsmarted the culprits and swiftly cracked the case within a few hours of the incident.
