Wife and lover arrested for murdering husband in Bhiwandi
A woman and her lover have been arrested for allegedly killing her husband in Bhiwandi, Thane district. The woman, Asu Mohanram Chowdhari (20), was in an illicit relationship with Anil Srivastav (21), who lived in the same area. When Mohanram came to know about the affair, he disapproved of it. The couple and Anil conspired to kill Mohanram.
On the day of the incident, Anil held Mohanram while Asu allegedly strangulated him to death. An offence under IPC sections 302 (murder) read with 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) was registered against the two accused who were arrested in the wee hours of the morning. The Shanti Nagar police are conducting further investigation into the case, while the body has been sent for postmortem.
Such incidents of extramarital affairs leading to murder are not uncommon in India. The police have urged people to resolve such issues through peaceful means and counselling, rather than resorting to extreme measures.
