2010 Dhaula Kuan Gangrape Case: Life Imprisonment for All Five Convicts
The Saket district court sentenced five men to life imprisonment on Monday for the gang rape of a call-centre employee in 2010. The victim, a 30-year-old BPO executive from the northeast, was abducted by the five convicts and raped in a moving vehicle. She was later abandoned on an isolated road near Dhaula Kuan area.The victim managed to inform her friend of her whereabouts who then informed the police. The five accused were arrested within a month of the incident and charged in February 2011. After several years of court hearings, the final verdict was passed on October 14, 2015, where all five convicts were sentenced to life imprisonment and fined Rs 50,000 each.
