Man Kills Wife and Stepdaughters in Mumbai's Dharavi
Esteeyak Khan (27) was arrested in Kolkata for murdering his wife Abida Khatun (40) and stepdaughters Sabiya (11) and Aalia (7). Khan, who worked as a labourer in a purse-making factory, married Abida a few months after meeting her and her daughters in Dharavi. He forced Abida to sell their Rs 9-lakh house, claiming they would settle in Uttar Pradesh.
The family moved to Kolkata where Esteeyak had Abida spend Rs 2 lakh before telling her he was already married to someone else in Uttar Pradesh. Esteeyak took his new wife and Abida to UP, leaving the two young daughters behind in Kolkata. On the way, he strangled Abida with a dupatta and threw her body on railway tracks. Then he poisoned and killed Sabiya and Aalia.
Dharavi police recovered Rs 7 lakh from Esteeyak and he has been charged under sections 302 and 201. Kolkata police are investigating the murder of Abida, who was reported as an accidental death in Lalori police station, Uttar Pradesh.
