Man Kidnaps Friend's Child for Unpaid Rs 20,000 in New Delhi
New Delhi, India: Brahmpal, a 27-year-old man, helped his friend reunite with his wife but later kidnapped his friend's four-year-old child when he refused to pay the agreed amount of Rs 20,000. Brahmpal and his accomplice, Surjeet, were arrested, and the child was rescued from Shabad Mohmmad Pur.
Brahmpal had assured Santosh Kumar, a resident of Nangloi, that he would help him bring back his wife in exchange for payment. Brahmpal and his friend successfully reunited the couple, but Kumar did not pay the agreed amount. Brahmpal and Surjeet then kidnapped the boy on June 1 and demanded a ransom of Rs 20,000 from Kumar. The police traced the call to Kanauj in Uttar Pradesh, but the kidnappers moved the boy to Shabad Mohammad Pur to evade capture.
The police were able to rescue the boy and apprehend the kidnappers. Brahmpal and Surjeet were brought before a court in New Delhi. ACP (West) V Renganathan stated that the accused were arrested, and the child was rescued.
